As a part of the Japan-U.S. Cherry Blossom Centennial in 2012, the Japanese Embroidery Center (JEC), in cooperation with the Embassy of Japan, presented Serenity in Silk: World of Nuido™ Collection. This exhibition displayed magnificent works of Japanese Embroidery including obi, kimono, interior designs, and an evening dress with cherry blossom motifs from the JEC permanent collection, as well as pieces stitched by our JEC Nuido members around the world. Festival visitors had a rare opportunity to experience the 1,600 year history and beauty of Japanese embroidery. Staffs in JICC were very pleased to have quite a few people visiting during the festival. They said that the most people have visited ever since their establishment! We genuinly thank all Nuido members who helped us to make this exhibition happen.
