2011 Japanese Embroidery World Exhibtion - Experience 1,600 Years of History
The 2011 World Exhibition will bring the world together in peace and harmony through Nuido, The Way of Japanese Embroidery. Sponsored by the Japanese Embroidery Center (JEC) and Kurenai-Kai Ltd., the event will display over 100 magnificent works embodying the tradition, skill and discipline of this ancient art. These works - created by people in 19 countries on 5 continents - will be enjoyed by thousands around the world.
Audiences will have the rare opportunity to experience the 1,600 year tradition, culture and heritage of Japanese Embroidery through the displays, lectures, classes, demonstrations and an exhibition catalog at one of these world venues:

The Art Museum at University of Kentucky
The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky promotes the understanding and appreciation of art to enhance the quality of life for the people of Kentucky through collecting, exhibiting, preserving, and interpreting outstanding works of visual art from all cultures. We thank Robert Haven, a professor at the University of Kentucky, for making this happen! It is an absolute honor for us to hold the exhibition at the university.

OzAsia Festival at Adelaide Festival Centre, Adelaide, Australia
The Japanese Embroidery World Exhibition will be held in conjunction with OzAsia (Oz means Australia) Festival and features the culture of Japan. The festival is presented by the Adelaide Festival Centre on an annual basis. This unique event on the Australian arts calendar attracts more than 20,000 patrons. The program features some of the most talented artists from the region and around the world, including China, Japan, UK, Korea, Indonesia, India, Hong Kong, and Malaysia, along with Australians who identify with an Asian cultural heritage and collaborative work between Australian and Asian artists. There is a rich and diverse range of performances including music, dance, theatre, visual art, film, food and free events, a number of Australian exclusives and a world premiere.
