In addition to its traditional five phases of beads instruction, JEC offers a special project every year for the student who wishes to work on unusual and challenging designs . The special project for 2008 is Wave Purse, a beautiful handbag with a flowing wave motif (please see below for image and details). We hope you will join us as we bead this gorgeous and challenging new piece by Matsukawa-san.
Please check out the class schedule and other beads projects here!
Matsukawa-san's new special project for 2008, Wave Purse (see image below), will be taught at the class this year. Introduced last year at Bead Class, we already have many students looking forward to beading this design. There are three colorways available for this pattern: navy blue as seen below, green, and gunmetal. While each purse uses only a single color, the different sizes and types of beads used provide texture and interest to the design.

Wave Purse* ($170.00) includes:
Beads
Fabric (satin)
Design paper
Patter paper
Color photo
Felt
You need:
All purpose thread (white and black)
39" Japanese embroidery frame**
Needles (M2, M3)

Any embroidery scissors
One or two pairs of koma

** Due to the length of the fabric for Wave Purse, a long (39") frame is required. Those who prefer to frame up twice using the regular (29") frame need to inform us, and we will alter the fabric length accordingly.
The color of this handbag is refreshing and can be used throughout the seasons. The motifs lend an air of sophistication to this simple yet classic design..
