Special Japanese embroidery classes are coming to Australia in August-September. Patricia Le Pasterier, Heather Sterling and Margaret Lee will invite Kazumi Tamura and assist with the
organization of the event.
Following several months of planning, the final blueprint was completed and disseminated. Adelaide will be hosting the event at Hosanna Heights, a facility approximately 8 km from the city
center, nestled in the foothills of the Adelaide Hills. It boasts the Morialta Conservation Park, with its three waterfalls and numerous flora and bird life as its "back garden."
Two programs (A & B) will be offered catering to embroiderers of all levels.
Program A What: Variations of "White Blossoms" at Beginners, Intermediate and Challenge Levels will be taught by Kazumi Tamura, using PowerPoint
presentation. When: August 24 – 27, 2006.
Program B Advanced students are invited to a workshop, which will run from 29 August to 1 September 2006, where Kazumi Tamura will offer her expert guidance to
participants on their own choice of project.
With participants expected from Australia and New Zealand, we hope this event will contribute towards the development of stronger friendships among participants through our common
bond in Japanese embroidery.
We also hope that this article will interest Japanese embroiderers overseas to visit the Great Southland – Australia and join us in a wonderful time of stitching and sharing.
