The soft and light colors used for the piece speaks of the arrival of spring. Shochikubai, or pine, bamboo, and plum, representing
happiness as shown in the circles. Superimposed Shochikubai are stitched with #1 gold and silver, on top of the foundation laid with #1 twisted silver and gold. The colors used for the piece are very pale; however, the
combination of embroidery techniques brings strength and energy for praising spring. |
